AGL Resources, Jefferson Island Storage & Hub donate $20,000

ERATH, La. – December 16, 2009 - AGL Resources (NYSE: AGL) subsidiary Jefferson Island Storage & Hub, LLC (JISH) today announced its support for Delcambre High School, presenting a check for $20,000 to help purchase new uniforms for the school’s award-winning marching band.

“Delcambre High School’s marching band has a tradition of excellence, and AGL Resources and Jefferson Island Storage & Hub are proud to be part of its continued success,” said David Schultz, vice president of asset management, who made the check presentation at today’s Iberia Parish School Board meeting.

“We have a corporate value at AGL Resources called ‘generosity of spirit,’ and a partnership like this with a local school is another example of our commitment to the communities where we live and operate,” Schultz said.

In 2008, AGL Resources and JISH contributed state-of-the-art equipment for Erath High School’s new piano lab. The donation included 12 Yamaha keyboards, a teacher-master station and a classroom management system.

“Delcambre is a very small community, and it would have been extremely difficult for us to raise the $38,730 needed for 100 new band uniforms,” said Cory Bourque, principal of Delcambre High School. “Even after making a down payment, we still would have been paying this down for another five years. The $20,000 from AGL Resources will be a big, big relief to our band boosters and the parents of our band members.”

“The uniforms that we have at this time are over 10 years old, and we don’t have enough of them to meet the needs of our growing band,” said Keith Wyatt, who has seen participation grow from 35 to 70 members during his seven years as Delcambre High School’s band director.
