Pivotal Propane of Virginia

Pivotal Propane of Virginia (PPoV) is a propane peaking facility located in Chesapeake, VA.  Air propane can be used in very limited quantities as a substitute for natural gas, and can easily be stored in liquid form until it is needed.  PPoV is designed to deliver air propane to its customer, Virginia Natural Gas (an AGL Resources subsidiary), during the traditionally high-demand winter season, should it be required.  The facility can store over 3 million gallons of propane on site, and is designed to deliver 28,800 Dth/d of natural gas equivalent propane for ten days, for a total of 288,000 Dth per winter season.
